Last Monday I had the chance to go to Whistler for a quick 30 hours...left Sunday after church, got up there late afternoon, ski'd on Monday. It was a great trip. Only three complaints; 1) the price of rentals/lift ticket (about $140 with a discount), 2) the long lines (after arriving, we spent almost 3 hours in lines to get our lift ticket and rental gear...thankfully we did this on Sunday

Saturday, Julie, Brennan and I, along with Julie's parents went on a whale watching trip out of Bellingham. It was a perfect day. Supposed to rain a bit, but we hit blue skies for most of the day. The first one is called "B-Zilla" and is one that Andrew should understand.  The next one is a little long, (3+ minutes...when did our attention spans get so short), but is well worth it.  It's actually a compilation of 5 videos.  Brennan loves to sit in his "blue bouncy" chair while we eat and Julie seems to have a special ability to get him in hysterics!

Ok, this post has nothing to do with Brennan.  Believe it or not, I do still like to take pictures of other things.  So I borrowed my brother-in-law's wide angle lens, (10-22mm) and was experimenting with some shots. This is what I came up with!  I must say, though, I'm very disappointed with the quality of these images after I uploaded them.  All the color was taken out of these pictures.  Ugh.

So I get home from work on Friday, around 4:00, and tell Julie about my long and tiring day. We do something we don't normally do...we act spontaneously, with Brennan even, and 40 minutes later we're totally packed, baby fed, and we're on the road to spend the night with my family at my brother's place on Whidbey Island. This past weekend, we celebrated my oldest nephew Kyle's 13th birthday (on the 13th, no less). It was a great day and I am so proud of him - he's growing up to be a fine young man. As you can see from the pictures and video, he has a special way with Brennan as well. What kind of shower you ask? Both kinds...a "baby" shower and a "snow" shower.  Of course, I didn't attend the baby shower, but came in at the end and snapped a few photos.  And who would have thunk, two days after "shorts" weather, we'd actually have snow at our house.

Wonder why I love living in Bellingham so much? These pictures were all taken within a 25 minute drive of our house. First of all, I apologize for the terrible quality of this shot.  I was on my way to work a week ago, and saw a "rainbow" around the sun.  I didn't have my camera with me but I did have my flip video.  However, the video I shot got corrupted somehow, and all that was left was about 2 seconds worth.  So I extracted this frame from the video. What is it, you ask?  A halo around the sun.

Made it out to the Stimpson Nature Reserve. Here are the results.  Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the creature below is a "skink?"  This one was big...about 8" long.  The sun-light was coming through at the end of my walk, and it illuminated beautifully the young tree (last picture).
