A beautiful Monday Drive

Wonder why I love living in Bellingham so much? These pictures were all taken within a 25 minute drive of our house. Only problem - I didn't realize until I got home that my ISO speed was set to 1000. So except for one or two of these pictures, they may look more pixelated than what I'd want. For those who have no idea what ISO is, forget it...just know that the higher the number, the more pixelated the photos, but the better for shooting in low light. Why was my camera set at 1000? Because I had been shooting indoors at night in low light and didn't want to use the flash...but I digress.

Monday Drive

Artist Ridge - Mt. Baker

Made it up for my yearly snow-shoe trip to Artist Ridge.  Went with a friend this time around!  Didn't take a ton of pics, mainly because the mountains still look the same!  Breathtakingly beautiful.  However, I did shoot a little video which you can check out.

Something you don't see everyday

First of all, I apologize for the terrible quality of this shot.  I was on my way to work a week ago, and saw a "rainbow" around the sun.  I didn't have my camera with me but I did have my flip video.  However, the video I shot got corrupted somehow, and all that was left was about 2 seconds worth.  So I extracted this frame from the video.

What is it, you ask?  A halo around the sun.

Made it out to the Stimpson Nature Reserve. Here are the results.  Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the creature below is a "skink?"  This one was big...about 8" long.  The sun-light was coming through at the end of my walk, and it illuminated beautifully the young tree (last picture).
