Fraser River Fishing

So my Dad, brother and Uncle Bob went on a little fishing trip this past weekend up to the Fraser River (BC). The trip was a highlight for many reasons. Unfortunately the fishing wasn't so great.
We stayed in a Cabin that was owned by a wonderful family; Don, Gayle and Taylor (10). They are "First Nations" and Don was an amazing wood-worker. In fact he built the cabin and their house himself. In addition he has made many totem poles, drums, and other beautiful things. He also took care of our hunger needs making "Maui Pork Chops" the first night and "Salmon" the second night.

Besides this wonderful family, we had a fishing guide, Graham, who kept things fun and told a lot of stories (not sure how many were true). The only thing he couldn't do for us was find the fish. It was supposed to be prime time for Sockeye and Chinook however, since the run was so small to begin with, the Canadian authorities never opened Sockeye season. In all, we fished 16 hours over two days and landed 8 total fish (4 for David, 1 for me, 1 for Dad and 2 for Uncle Bob). Still, we had a blast and it will be memory for a long time.

Enjoy the pictures - there are more to come, but it will take me a few days to get them uploaded.
