Here are some pics that didn't fit into a category, but are worth showing. I'll just call them "color" and "life." The first photo is a lunch spot that Dave, Kathryn and I found on the way home from one of our beach trips, (yes, inside the van). The garlic shrimp there was out of this world good (and messy). The resolution on these images doesn't do them justice...oh well. Can't have it all I guess? Click here to see them.

Oahu: Surfers
The surf was up...way up! Big waves on the North Shore = only 1 thing - surfers! While we were there we witnessed at least 2 competitions at Sunset Beach. Here's some of the shots I came away with...unfortunately, unless you're actually on the beach or in the water, you really can't get the true feeling of how big the surf was. What I needed was a 300mm lens as the larger waves were out farther. Click here to go straight to all the pics.
Yep - all of these guys and gals (below) are waiting for a wave.

Oahu: Waves & Sunsets
Ok, here come the pictures! I divided them into categories and first up today is "Waves & Sunsets." The first three pictures are from "Shark Reef Cove" - believe it or not, the area to the far left of the first picture is supposed to be good snorkeling...not on this day. First Look
Julie and I just got back from a trip to the North Shore of Oahu. The North Shore is famous for big surf in the winter and to be sure, we had our fair share. As always, I have lots of pictures to upload, but this is just a first look video I shot with a flip mino hd.
This first video is a place called Sharks Reef Cove - supposed to be a good spot for snorkeling, but not on this day!
This second video is just a collection of shorter videos I shot from our house, including a little rescue by a jet-ski. Of course, it's impossible to show the scale of the waves...they were even bigger than they appear in the video.
Keep checking back for more updates in the coming days.

A little video
As you can tell, I purchased a Flip Mino HD video camera. Mainly for our baby (when he's born). It's cheap and simple to use. Here's a little video I shot around the bay. Keep in mind it was a gray and cloudy day...

Lagoon Point
Spent a day at Dave's beach house...what a great place! Here's a couple of pictures I extracted from the video I shot.
